Shaila Nambiar, B.1977, Kerala ; has attained her BFA Fine Arts from MSU Baroda and Textile Design from NID, Ahmedabad. 

Shaila Nambiar is best known for the humanised treatment of ordinary objects. Materials like metal, wood, paper and fabric find a way into her works following her thought process. She is a strong propagator of gender equality and questions societal forced identities. Her art, which comprises of sculptural forms incorporates objects used by woman to draw fluctuating parallels between the expected and the unusual —challenging the role ascribed to women by traditional society. Forming and deforming of the object happens simultaneously. These sculptures or the objects meets the eye of the spectator as a product of rebellion. 
Her works have been presented in several art galleries in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi. Her works have also been showcased in India Art Fair, New Delhi. Recently her worked were shown in London with the WeareSweet'Art Group and also at Venice with the prestigious Anima Mundi Art Festival. Shaila's Solo show was a part of the Bonjour India event, Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad 2017.
